Omo Valley Book
I am very proud to announce the release of my book Omo Valley. It represents 10 years of photographing the people and culture in southwest Ethiopia. The Omo Valley, known as the last frontier in Africa is home to nine main tribes and many other smaller tribes all of which are remarkably unique to each other. It is visually captivating and truly like no other place I have been on the planet. I found myself drawn back year after year to photograph not just the people and landscape but the changes that where also rapidly occurring in this remote undeveloped region. It became my passion to photograph these people at that moment in time.
This book is a collection of that photography from 2005 to 2015.
Price $125.00
About the Book
In deciding to finally create a photographic book of my time in the Omo Valley I knew I needed to find a world class book designer. Through my friend Steve McCurry (who wrote the forward) I was put in contact with Yolanda Cuomo in New York City. Yolanda and her team have worked with some incredible artists and organizations. You can view her impressive portfolio here . She has created books for Diane Arbus, Steve McCurry, National Geographic, Magnum and most recently the books of Pete Souza the official White House photographer for President Obama.
The book was printed at EBS in Verona, Italy using top of the line presses, ink, and paper. The book is 246 pages.
I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you,
John Rowe
