Lady Gaga : San Francisco, California 2014
There is no doubt that Lady Gaga puts on one of the finest live performances today. Our daughter Kelly is a fan and she introduced me to her music and performances. The music, the showmanship, the costumes, and her artistic sensibilities are incredible. I'm a fan now too.
In 2017, we attended her concert in San Francisco at the baseball stadium now called Oracle Park. The energy was electric. People were dressed in costumes, the crowd was enthusiastic, and thousands of fans filled the stadium. It was all after the release of her album Joanne, dedicated to her late aunt, Joanne.
"Million Reasons" was a song that resonated deeply with the crowd, and you could feel the raw emotion as Lady Gaga sang it. There was a palpable connection between her and the audience, as if we were all sharing in something deeply personal and cathartic.
The music was fantastic, and to have great music while you're making photographs is such a perfect collaboration of arts that really stimulates me in this immersive process. Whether it’s ballet and classical music, the raw energy of the Rolling Stones, or the electric performance of Lady Gaga, each brings something unique. It helps me connect, fuels my creativity, and sets the stage for finding that magic moment. It's like the music serves as a backdrop that allows me to dive deeper into the experience, framing the moments I capture with a sense of rhythm, energy, and emotion.
