On a dirty street in Old Havana far from “La Finca” or “The Farm” where Olympians and the best boxers of the Cuba National Team train is an old run down outdoor gym where amateurs hope to find greatness.
For years young people from all over Cuba and beyond have come to Rafael Trejo Gym or others like it to train, be recognized and realize their dreams of boxing on the world stage.
I always enjoyed my days with these dedicated athletes who welcomed me warmly and demonstrated strength and courage every day.
