Winter in the West, Wyoming
For over a century, five generations of the Flintner family have tended the land and livestock of the Diamond Tail Ranch near Shell, Wyoming.
Nestled at the base of the majestic Big Horn Mountains, this is a rugged and unforgiving land. Summers can be scorching, while winters descend with a fierce and bitter cold.
In winter, the landscape transforms beneath a pristine blanket of snow. This is when I like to visit—when silence softens the world, and the contrast of white snow against red rock creates a stunning stillness. These are quiet, powerful moments in a truly special place.
The people in these photographs are not models. They live and work on the ranch. They know horses and cattle as a way of life. This is the American West—gritty, enduring, and real.
